Super wow! So excited to be this year’s 50 Best Dressed winner. That really was an unexpected result and so much fun to be a part of. I always say “as long as I’m in the top 10, I’m happy”… but this is awesome.
It all starts around August each year when we are contacted by the Gold Coast Bulletin notifying us that we’ve been selected to take part in this year’s 50 Best Dressed List.
During September, the top 50 trickle in to the Bulletin HQ in Southport over a few select days for a photo shoot. We have to style two outfits to be photographed – one for the Day Wear lift out and one for the Evening Wear section. We have individual time slots so we can change, do make up touches (and if you’re a bit GC famous you have your own privacy : )
Over an exciting month, the outfits are revealed in the GC Eye Magazine and readers can flick through and check out all the outfits over weekend coffees or vote online for their favourites.
I’ve become a huge fan of this weekend lift out, it’s full of great stories on interesting people, fashion, lifestyle, food and events. It’s such a quality publication and a huge credit to the Gold Coast and the amazing city we have become.
Super exciting events take place over the month like an exclusive High Tea lunch for the listees and an awesome after party at Jupiters Casino. This year a few of the girls in the top ten were driven to the event by one of the sponsors, Porsche. I missed a few of the events this year, however I was lucky enough to shoot a cover (or two!) so had to style quite a few outfits for last minute shoots.
The prize package really is amazing. I am lucky enough to drive a Porsche for a month, received a $2500 shopping spree at Robina Town Centre, a one year ambassador role with Oscar and Oscar, a weekend at Jupiters Casino plus so much more! By the way there is no way I’m taking the five seater, it’s the Boxter all the way – the kids can stay at home!
It really was so much fun to be a part of and I’m glad to say I’m going out on a big high note… Adios! Thanks to the GC Eye team and for having me as the Gold Coast Bulletin’s Best Dressed for 2016, I’ll see you in the social pages : ) xx
