We were invited to a very special sneak peak and sleep over at the new Sage Hotel in James Street which is opening this week. It was such a wonderful 24 hours where we enjoyed all the hotel had to offer as well as the inner city charms of James Street and surrounds. The area has become a hub of fashion, food, coffee and the atmosphere was contagious. The street was buzzing with life, culture and I felt right at home.
This sleek boutique hotel offers immaculate, comfortable rooms with chic interiors and luxe furnishings. The top floors have magnificent city skyline views and come with lots of special touches like yummy local chocolates for guests and a coffee machine…ahhh, the way to my heart! Most importantly, the beds were super comfy, definitely a number one priority when staying away!
Being a part of the iconic Queens Arms Hotel, the building has a unique blend of modern and original features. Soon to open is the Cellar, Deli & Cafe downstairs as well as a restaurant for optional in house dining choices and the Farrier Bar & Supper Club is underneath for those who want to have an after dinner drink.

During the evening we were treated to a fashion parade hosted by Kimberly Gardner and Joshua Jones showcasing some great designers that are located in the street. We were then taken on a tour of some of the rooms and I particularly loved the gorgeous showroom where fashion houses can do presentations or showings when in town and stay in the room next door. I love a hotel that offers extra racking and hangers for clothes!

Beautiful goodies from Waterlily Skin, Body and Spa.
The next morning we popped next door for an Acai bowl and some really good coffee with the girls and caught up on all things fashion and industry. We walked the streets and popped in to some of the high fashion stores on offer. Boutiques such as Calexico, Maryon’s Shoes, Scanlan & Theodore, Sass & Bide, Zimmerman, Camilla, Assembly Label, Samantha Ogilvie, Gail Sorronda and Aje just to name a few.
All your beauty needs are also covered with stores like Mac, Aesop, Mecca and Waterlily Skin, Body & Spa. You could easily spend a few days indulging in some pampering.
I’m a sucker for good homewares and furniture stores and there is an abundance of them, think Pottery Barn, West Elm, Wheel & Barrow and St Barts to really get your interior juices flowing… so dangerous! There is even a cinema and a constant itinerary of gorgeous events that happen each year.
On the dining front there’s everything from a pizzeria to sushi and fine dining restaurants, not to mention the most amazing fresh produce from The Standard Market. Bucci’s, Gerard’s Bistro and Chow House are a few on my must visit list for next time!
We had a styling presentation at Camilla where the gorgeous girls in store educated us on numerous ways to wear one of their beautiful kaftans. They really are such versatile pieces, no wonder it’s such a popular and thriving Australian brand. An embellished military style jacket caught my eye and I wanted to wear it right out of the store!
Jacket: It Was All A Dream Jacket
All in all it was a great stay and I would definitely be back again next time I need to pop up to Brisbane for an event. Better still, a girls trip for a few days of shopping, dining and pampering would be perfect. Thanks for having me!
Lots of love xx
