my MBFWA 2017 experience

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia was everything I imagined and more! It was so much fun to attend as a Blogger this year, really immerse myself in the week and soak up all the action. My posse and I were all a tad excited and we just had the best time ever!

parisian blue

I fell in love with this amazing blue that was predominant amongst the Hunky Dory Spring 2015 collection (along side creams, lilacs and an abundance of wearable denim pieces).   The brand can be quite chic and classic with an edgy twist, but this range encapsulates the very essence of summer dressing.   I wanted to shoot about five looks but I was lucky enough to steal these pieces for the weekend from the samples earlier this year to feature for our Australian summer July delivery.   Here it is!

I can’t believe we are coming toward the end of our winter, I hope we still have lots more chilly days to go before the Aussie summer hits.   I feel at home in winter, I think it must be because of our Melbourne roots, where cooler weather really is a reality.   After all, it is 24 degrees here today.   Brrrrrrrrr ; )

blue on blue on blue

You don’t have to wear a bright pink or orange hue to walk on the bright side.   A simple blue jean, a tee with a gentle print or a poppy heel is enough to lift my spirits and crate a diversion from my mostly monochromatic self.   I love colours that have reduced saturation.   Colour without the vibrancy.   Soft colour.   You get it?

Blue, purple and red sounds so brazen.   But smokey blue, lavender ice and carmine hit the nail on the head.   For me that is : )

embellished

Dolled up much?  This is definitely about as sparkly as I get.   How could I resist this IRO skirt though.   With its thoughtful cut aways and embellishments upon pleats.   Hammered down with a metallic fleck, reminiscent of a silvery gold milky way.  Only ever so slightly hijacked by the Dylanex masterpiece I’m finding hard to take off.   Black lace ups to die for and a simple white blazer sky rocket this get up into the stratosphere.

It’s my birthday lunch on the weekend.   Outfit sorted.

shades of grey

I am pretty sure this is going to be one of the last posts I do before baby arrives.  I can’t wait for you to meet him and will post a picture of him as soon as I can.

This little outfit was great for the other day when it was a touch cooler on the coast.   I’ve been wearing this over sized denim shirt a lot through this pregnancy as it’s so long.   A baby blue knit over the top of denim is always a good idea and as for the coat over the shoulders, it completes an outfit for me.

I jumped on the “Mule” bandwagon a while ago and I have to say this soft calfskin pair by Balenciaga have been heaven to wear.   They are so soft and the perfect heel height.   They work well with the ultimate in leather pants and are surprisingly comfortable despite my current predicament.

Love to all xx
