a subtle statement shirt

I’m kinda big into this shirt… It’s really blousy and full and interesting… It’s sexy and sophisticated, whilst remaining a little understated with it’s muted print.
Do you remember Nolita? How amazing was this brand back in the day? It’s been brought back to life after a few years and still has something special about it. Each piece is really thoughtful and has a definite point of difference.

androgony

Slightly androgynous, a tad masculine and chic as hell, the wide leg pant is strong, elegant and demands attention.   Whether you wear them bellowing at the hem with a killer heel or relaxed and bulging over a flat Adidas sneaker, they will always add a theatrical flair to your outfit.

As we wandered the back streets of Brisbane on this perfectly gloomy day, I adjusted to the light and blended in to the monochromatic walls. These colours are my roots and I felt a flashback 10 years ago to when I used to live in outfits like this on a daily basis.   Ah fashion, how I love your cycles.

As for the corset over white shirt, this is always a winner for me.   So simple and effective.   Don’t be afraid, you can do it!

a little lace

The bump is well and truly out now, there’s no hiding it!  So as my new line goes… excuse the belly : )

Something a bit sexy about having a cheeky bit of lace peeking through, whether it’s a hemline or neckline… Over-sized and loose around the middle tops are a staple with pregnancy and this little Joie number is perfect for now.   I dragged out the Stuart Weitzman thigh highs (these will be staying with me for a lifetime) and thrown an over-sized coat in the mix for today’s look.

Love to all xx

shiny, plasticy things…

Another one of our posts shot in the streets of Soho, New York.   Such a beautiful place with an abundance of visual stimulation and inspirational content just begging to be taken advantage of.   Just an old brick wall is enough to excite me, or a hole-in-the-wall cafe buzzing with atmosphere.   I will definitely spend some time living here in another life I have decided, if I haven’t already.

In this post I’m wearing my new favourite boots by super talented designer, Nicholas Kirkwood.   They’re so comfortable that I wore them all day walking around New York.   I have to say that’s quite impressive, considering Bass and I walked about 20 kilometers that particular day.

I have a strange attraction to shiny, plasticy things at the moment.   This Freddy anorak is no exception and stayed strong through our whole trip with it’s ideal traveling ability (think scrunch it up in your handbag if you no longer need it and drag it back out for instant chic).  It was particularly handy considering I packed for warm weather.   New York was 35 degrees during Fashion Week but decided to drop dramatically over night to cool pre-fall chills, leaving my wardrobe slightly unsuitable considering the climate.   I had to whip up some interesting outfits with what I packed!

This little LNA leather mini is proving to be a great addition to my wardrobe with it popping out of the woodwork often.   It works beautifully with this Enza Costa tee, Enza produces the most heavenly pieces in a quality not often found.   Outfit complete with Proenza Schouler shoulder bag, Hunky Dory bracelet and Ray Bans.  Love xx

this dress was made for walking

I adore this dress.   It’s Free People from a few seasons ago, but I always manage to drag it out and it adapts to a winter or summer season of choice.   Today I’ve booted up with some very fabulous Free kicks, loads of gold and rusted hard wear and my Nolita cropped jacket.   Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses and Alexander Wang pelican bag complete today’s look.
