I remember those Cindi Lauper days… dancing around the living room to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun in my tutu and mum’s fishnets… The punk is back and I’m excited!
There is some major fishnet inspo out there at the moment. I love seeing a little netting peeking through ripped denim and adorning ankles when paired with epic shoes. Adding a little fishnet here or there is a fun way to get creative with your outfit styling. This trend is so simple but really effective and can be done quite subtly if you choose, or worn really out there to make an on trend fashion statement.
You can of course keep things classic and wear them with a dress, skirt or even under shorts… or you can put a little playful twist on things. Fishnet socks with trainers, some loafers or tights underneath ripped denim jeans or a mini can really amp things up. Pretty much anything goes and basically any bare skin showing is the perfect opportunity to lay down some underlying net factor.

Fishnets under some killer ripped denim is a match made in heaven. So much depth, texture and wow factor! It adds a fun and playful note to your denim option with a little rock & roll at the same time. Personally I like the texture and detail it adds. It makes things interesting.
If you want to be really cool, try pulling them up high above your pants… Ahhh I love the idea but probably would only try this if I was in my 20’s!

For me, just a little bit of netting peeking through a ripped knee is enough and is an intricate detail which speaks a thousand words. If you are going to test the waters, this is a great place to start and is pretty modest.
You can play around with a large or small weave or in different colours too (especially for the socks). I suggest keeping the rest of your outfit pretty simple so start slow. It’s really important to wear closed in toes though (open heels are okay) as it is clean and sophisticated. There is nothing worse than seeing a toe popping out of your tights, that is a big no no!
It’s just a fun way to give your outfit a little edge! I want to see your pics and hear your ideas on the trend, let me know in the comment box below!
Now for some cool weather so we can really test this out! xx
