Autumn racing is upon us and I’m excited! Lots of options out there for every fashionista at the track this season. Whether you choose to keep it clean and classic or feel like getting a little “frou frou” on, you will certainly be covered with the all the magnificent race wear choices.
There are so many talented milliners coming through creating unique head pieces with truly beautiful and theatrical designs. Gold, silver, metallic, felt or leather laser cut flowers are really popular this season, and have a real romanticism about them. I love the way you can express your fashion personality through the gorgeous array of styles coming through. Hats in classic shapes are also really popular and give a clean and stylish look.
Making sure your look is complete and works as a whole is really important. Everything from the shoes, bag, sunglasses, jewellery, hair & make up have to tell a story. Whether there is a main colour theme, or you clash a bit with prints or colour, it must be a harmonious union.
Depending on your outfit, choose a shoe that compliments your dress. Your heels have to be high, however comfortable as you have to stay on your feet all day. For autumn racing a closed toe pump or peep toe is preferable over strappy sandals.
I like to pair accessories like bag and sunglasses to either blend seamlessly or clash with a bold colour or print if your dress needs a little lift. Make up should be appropriate for the time of day (it’s not an evening event so lighten up on the makeup!).
This fun and flirty mini dress is the ultimate race day style that demands you have nothing but fun at the races! I think you’d definitely pick a winner in this one. The print is an easy colour combination easy to wear and it has a gorgeous ruffle sleeve detail and beaded trim. Keeping it clean and simple in a smart black headpiece and some print clashing heels for fun.
Talulah La Maison: Thinking out Loud Midi Dress
A truly stunning fitted dress that makes you feel a million dollars when wearing it. The dress is paired cleanly with black and white to let it shine. With a deep v neckline, simple ruffle detail through the body and a fitted body silhouette, this is the perfect race day dress that oozes sophistication and elegance. You simply can’t go wrong with styling this piece with chick black accessories and a structured hat for creating the ultimate in chic racing style.
Talulah La Maison: Blind Love Midi Dress
I adore this rose lace dress, it channels the perfect vintage vibe in a timeless silhouette. However there is something inherently modern about it, making it the most divine dress to wear, perfect for a day at the races.
Being such a pretty and feminine style, I love to add light toned accessories in either cream, nudes or metallic to lift the colour and let it shine. The lace detail is such a beautiful feature so a simple headpiece or hat is all that it needs. Open toe or strappy sandals with either gold or silver jewellery compliment it perfectly.
It would be impossible not to have a good day at the races in this exquisite dress!
Talula La Maison: So Shy Midi Dress
This on trend dress has a beautifully defined body shape, off the shoulder neckline and features a show stopping bell sleeve and tie detail. There is a real elegance about it and demands attention at a race day when styled to completion. Pairing this dress with a bold colour like a red hat or some statement heels complements the dress perfectly. The great thing about this dress is it’s so versatile. You can also wear it through the season by styling it with some winter staples, or wear it to a cocktail event.
Talulah La Maison: Breaking Dawn One Shoulder Dress
This beautiful dress cuts a feminine silhouette with ruffled layers, asymmetric hemline and embroidered detail. There is a real sense of romance when wearing this style and it would path the way for an epic race day! The stunning print is perfect to team with bold colours like navy or pink which will tie back with the intricate embroidery detail. A headpiece would also work with it however a stylish hat really balances out its volume. Simple jewellery in gold, silver or rose compliment it perfectly.
Whatever style you go for, your number one priority is having the best day ever. Make sure you’re all set with your outfit early so you can get on with the important stuff… Having fun! xx
