chunky knit

Hello all!   Hope everyone is doing well.   I’m working on lots of outfits at the moment for posting in the coming months… I have to say it’s definitely not as easy as throwing together whatever you like when you have a football slowly inflating in your tummy.   That being said, I’ve decided to go with it and embrace the belly.

A chunky knit is the perfect piece to add volume and texture, not to mention it’s belly hiding abilities (whether or not it’s a baby belly or an indulgent lunchtime meal).   Throw it together with some skinny leg jeans or in this case a leather pencil skirt and it balances the shape out well.   I’ve added a lilac/white/baby blue Joie plaid shirt around the waist for some depth with this Dolce & Gabbana pony hair pouch…(love the lilac plaid and leopard together). These Tony Bianco booties are becoming a regular and Celine sunglasses and simple Maison Martin Margiela rings complete the look.

See you in a few days xx

chunky knit & thigh highs

Lately I’ve been wanting to wear big chunky knits as dresses with my Stuart Weitzman thigh high boots.   There’s something a bit sexy about wearing an over-sized knit and nothing much else.   This piece is seriously special, designed by one of the first labels mum brought in to the country.   In her day, English designer Sara Sturgeon was huge (she stopped designing many years ago) and I have many pieces stored carefully in the wardrobe.  One year when I was fresh out of school, I worked in Paris on the stand at the Pret-a-Porter and in the Sara Sturgeon showroom in London.   It certainly was an amazing experience for a teenager and I learned so much about the industry.

I picked up this Dolce & Gabbana pony hair bag in New York as I desperately needed another leopard piece in my wardrobe (like a hole in the head ; )   The Celine sunglasses have a gold bar across the top so to tie in I’ve added a gold statement ring and hoops from Collette.

I adore this dress.   It’s Free People from a few seasons ago, but I always manage to drag it out and it adapts to a winter or summer season of choice.   Today I’ve booted up with some very fabulous Free kicks, loads of gold and rusted hard wear and my Nolita cropped jacket.   Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses and Alexander Wang pelican bag complete today’s look.
